Mather LifeWays is Proud to Participate in the Pepsi Refresh Challenge

by Richard Shank on March 2, 2010

Pepsi is giving away millions in grants each month to fund great ideas, and the Mather LifeWays Institute on Aging (MLIA) has two programs in the running that are deserving of your vote! Grants are given to programs that receive the most votes by visitors to the Pepsi Refresh Everything website. Every vote counts! You will be able to vote once daily through the end of March to provide $250,000 in Pepsi funding for each of the following MLIA proposals:

  • GIVE (Generations in Volunteering Excellence) program, an intergenerational volunteer program in which older adults (including grandparents) team up with young people, ages 5-18, to serve nonprofit organizations in their communities.

  • GIFT (Generations in Fitness Together) is an intergenerational wellness program that empowers older adults to mentor children in nutrition and physical activities. Fifty-four adults aged 50+ will be recruited from retirement communities, community centers, and senior centers and trained as “health coaches.” Vote Now
